Manzella Activated Today…
Earlier today the Charlotte Knights made roster move #125 of the season when they activated
Tommy Manzella off of the disabled list. Manzella, who was signed by the White Sox on August 1 and assigned to the Knights that day, is in tonight’s starting lineup. Tonight’s game is Manzella’s second with the Knights this season.
Back on August 2 in Louisville, Manzella made his Knights debut and went 0-4 with two strikeouts. He was placed on the DL on August 6, retroactive to August 3.
A native of Chalmette, Louisiana, Manzella was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2005 draft (3rd round). Manzella began the season with Triple-A Reno and appeared in 15 games and hit .100. He then appeared for Double-A Huntsville and hit .252 with one home run and eight RBIs over 62 games.
