White Sox Spring Training Game #4
After dropping the first three games of their spring training schedule, the Chicago White Sox notched their first win on Thursday — beating the Texas Rangers by a score of 6-3.

Morel, 24, continues to shine offensively this spring for the White Sox. A native of Bakersfield, CA, Morel went 2-3 with two runs scored in Thursday’s 6-3 win.
Chicago’s third baseman is off to an impressive start this spring — hitting .625 through his first three games played. More is 5-8 at the dish, with a double and three runs scored.
The 2011 season was Morel’s first full year in the Majors. He hit .245 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs in 147 games played. The youngster will look to build off those numbers as he enters his second full Major League season.
Back in 2010, Morel went from Double-A Birmingham, to Triple-A Charlotte, to the Majors with the Sox. He hit .320 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs in 81 games for the Knights that season.
Other Notes from Thursday’s game:
Gordon Beckham hit his first home run of the season as well on Thursday. Beckham went 1-3 with the home run and two RBIs.
Adam Dunn launched his first home run of the spring. Dunn finished Thursday’s affair 2-3 with the home run and four RBIs. The 32-year-old slugger is looking to rebound from a down year in 2011.
Deunte Heath was sharp on the hill for Chicago on Thursday. Heath walked one and struck out two batters over two scoreless frames. In 2011, he posted a 4-7 mark with a 4.73 ERA with the Knights.
Jhan Marinez, who was acquired from the Miami Marlins in the Ozzie Guillen deal this offseason, tossed 1.1 shutout inning for the Sox. The 23-year-old righty has spent parts of the past six seasons in the Minors. Marinez made his Major League debut on July 16, 2010 for the Marlins.
