Sox Make 14 Roster Moves, Charlotte Gets 8 Players…
After Monday’s 1-0 loss to the Reds, the Chicago White Sox made 14 roster moves, with eight players being sent to the Knights. Two of the eight players (Anthony Carter and Deunte Heath), and have already spent time with the Knights in their career, while the remaining six are newcomers to the Knights.
Carter (pictured), went 0-2 with a 7.23 ERA and three saves for the Knights in 35 games last season, while Heath posted a 4-7 mark with one save and a 4.73 ERA in 30 games for the Knights a season ago.
Both Ozzie Martinez and Jhan Marinez, the two players the Sox acquired from the Miami Marlins for Ozzie Guillen, were among the eight players sent to Charlotte.

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Following today’s game vs. the Cincinnati Reds, the Chicago White Sox made the following 14 roster moves:
- Optioned RHP Anthony Carter, RHP Simon Castro, RHP Deunte Heath, LHP Pedro Hernandez, LHP Charlie Leesman, RHP Jhan Marinez, INF Ozzie Martinez and LHP Donnie Veal to Class AAA Charlotte;
- Optioned RHP Nestor Molina and LHP Jose Quintana to Class AA Birmingham;
- Reassigned C Michael Blanke, INF Tyler Kuhn, OF Jared Mitchell and OF Trayce Thompson to minor-league camp.
With the moves, the White Sox have 37 players remaining in major-league camp: 16 pitchers, four catchers, 11 infielders and six outfielders.
