Newest Knight — Kevin Dubler
Earlier today, the Charlotte Knights placed OF Conor Jackson on the disabled list and received catcher Kevin Dubler from Double-A Birmingham. Charlotte currently has four players on the DL. Jackson joins Dallas McPherson, Brandon Short and Scott Olsen. Short and Olsen have not played this season for the Knights.
Double-A to Triple-A for Dubler: Kevin Dubler, an eighth round selection of the Chicago White Sox in 2008, joins the Knights today in time for their series at Coolray Field against the Gwinnett Braves.
Last season, Dubler hit .251 with three home runs and 15 RBIs for Kannapolis (52 games) and .306 with three home runs and 10 RBIs with Winston-Salem (12 games). Dubler was on Birmingham’s disabled list and had not played in a game this season. He finished the 2011 season with Kannapolis and had a hit in the final two games of the season to end the year.

2012: Has not played in a game this season… Activated off Birmingham (AA) DL and assigned to Charlotte on 5/5/12… 2011: Split time between Kannapolis and Winston-Salem and hit .261(55-211) in 64 games… Hit .323(10-31) in July with four doubles and two RBIs in nine games for Kannapolis.
Career: Has .232 with nine HRs and 64 RBIs in 188 Minor League games
MISC: Dubler atended Illinois State University, where he hit .358 with nine home runs, 56 RBIs and 47 runs scored in 52 games in 2008… Was a semifinalist for the Johnny Bench award… played for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2007.
