This offseason is set to be an exciting one for the Charlotte Knights. With the groundbreaking of BB&T Ballpark already completed, it’s now time to look ahead at some of the other exciting steps in the construction of the Knights new home.
BB&T Ballpark is scheduled to be ready in time for the start of the 2014 season and there has been a lot of buzz from Knights fan and the city of Charlotte since ground was broken on that beautiful September day. The ceremony brought together city council members, Knights staff, Chicago White Sox Staff, fans, media and more!
Make sure to check out some of the groundbreaking photos here: Knights Groundbreaking.
On Tuesday, October 2, construction crews will cross another milestone. Beginning around 8:00 AM on Tuesday, the Virginia Paper Company Building will be torn down. The building can be seen here (photo, right). This is the most up-to-date photo of the site and was taken with the Knights web cam, which has been installed for fans to view.
As for Tuesday, I’ll be on-site with a full look at the entire demolition process. I’ll have an updated blog with information, photos, and more.
It’s going to be an exciting offseason. Stay tuned for the next step as we get closer to a brand-new ballpark. Let’s Go Knights!
