Arizona Fall League – Day 2

Day two of the Arizona Fall League saw just one of the four 2012 Charlotte Knights in action. On Wednesday, Salt River Rafters OF Trayce Thompson went 0-3 with two walks on the day. Thompson, the son of former NBA #1 pick Mykal Thompson, is hitting .200 (1-5) with two RBIs and four walks over two games.

The River Rafters are 2-0 as they head into Thursday’s game.

News & Notes:
One other note from Wedesday as the Chicago White Sox optioned infielder Ray Olmedo to the Knights, which took him off of the team’s 40-man roster and made him a free agent. Olmedo hit .273 for the Knights in 2012 over 80 games. In 20 games for the White Sox this season, the Venezuela native hit .244.

Former Knight Javier Lopez recorded an out for the Giants in the eighth inning of their 2-1 win over the Reds on Tuesday. Lopez was a reliever for the Knights in 2006 and went 2-1 with 12 saves and a 0.55 ERA in 26 games for the Knights that season. Lopez also recorded an out on Thursday for the Giants as well.
