“Winter Wonderful” was Wonderful

December 8, 2012

(Fort Mill, SC) — There may be four seasons, but for me, there are only two — baseball season and the holiday season.  And even though baseball season is my favorite, the holiday season holds a special place in my heart.IMAG2068

Perhaps the greatest feeling is being able to give something back.

On Saturday, at Knights Stadium, that’s just what members of the Charlotte Knights front office did — we gave back a little something to some of our great, passionate fans.

From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on a Saturday in December, the Charlotte Knights held their first holiday event at Knights Stadium.

Baseball season is more than four months away, but fans came out to support the Knights and spend part of their holiday season at the ballpark.

Melissa Toth of the the Rock Hill Herald came out and photographed some of the fans Saturday and did a great job. To see her entire photo gallery, you can view the link here:

Also, thanks to my pals at CN2 for coming out to the event as well. I look forward to seeing their story on Monday.IMAG2082

All and all, Winter Wonderful was a great event. Special thanks to Margie Burleson, the Knights event coordinator, who created the event and put so much hard work into it. Saturday’s event was the first of many great offseason events. We’ll continue to bring our fans exciting things to do!

Upcoming Offseason Community Events:

Members of the Charlotte Knights front office will volunteer their time at the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, Classroom Central, and at the Six Pence Pub in Fort Mill.

On Thursday, December 20, staff members will be “guest bartenders” at the Six Pence Pub to raise money for the Salvation Army. Stop by from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and make a donation! There will be great food, drinks, and more!
